GOURGUE Jacques Enguerrand
Gourgue was born in Haiti in june 1931. He is the son of a french psychiatrist and a haitian manbo (vodoo priestess). He joined the Centre d'Art in 1947. That same year, he paints "La Table Magique" (the magic table) witch is part of the permanent collection of the New-York MOMA. He lives for several years in Spain. His work was shown in Europe, North America and sold at Christies and Sothebys. He died in Haiti in 1996.
