Etienne Chavannes was born in July 15 1939 in Cap-haitian. When he was 30 years old he start to study with Philomé Obin and joined the "Centre d'Art" in Port-au-Prince for 6 years. His work was shown at the Brooklyn Museum in New York, in Paris and in several countries in Europe.
